West Berkshire Council aims, with your help, to recycle as much household waste as possible.
Apart from your black wheelie bin, used for general (non-recyclable) rubbish you should have two green boxes,
one for paper, the other for glass; and a green sack for cans and plastic bottles.
You should also have a green wheelie bin for recycleable garden waste.
Below is a list of items which you can and can't put in these containers.
The normal collection day is TUESDAY, but this may be modified on or around bank holidays.
Normal (non-recycleable) refuse will continue to be collected weekly, and recycleable rubbish will be collected every two weeks.
The following information has been extracted from the 'Think Green' leaflets published by West Berkshire Council, a copy of which can be downloaded by clicking on the appropriate link for Green Garden waste or Paper, glass, cans and plastic These leaflets also include a calendar of collection days up to the end of November

On most plastic packaging there is a small triangle with a plastic type number, from 1-7, stamped into it. Currently West Berks refuse collections can only recycle types 1 & 2. |
