
Beech Hill is a settlement of roughly 125 homes on a south facing slope in Berkshire.
With about 160 residents of voting age, and about 40 young people, the village is a rural community surrounded by agricultural land on all sides.
The parish lies on the eastern edge of West Berkshire unitary authority, and is bounded to the south by the Basingstoke & Deane district of Hampshire, and to the east by Shinfield in the Wokingham unitary authority.
The village is about 3 miles south of the Junction 11 exit of the M4. This is the Basingstoke and Central Reading exit of the Motorway.
Beech Hill is on a minor road, which connects the villages of Mortimer, two miles to the west, to Spencers Wood about one mile to the east. These larger villages support Beech Hill with a number of shops, doctors surgeries, pharmacies and libraries.
Mortimer Station (2 miles), on the Reading – Basingstoke line, benefits from a half hourly service to and from these mainline stations. Reading being only 35 minutes from London Paddington.
Beech Hill Parish Church is approximately the centre of the village at Grid Reference SU 698644 and standing 68 metres above sea level.
The village centre is at 51º22’25” North 0º59’55” West.
